Think he's done??? 100%. come on man look at his schedule and dealings since he beat Eddie Alvarez. he aint no fighter no more. now he's fighting Cowboy, who is the complete opposite of where Conor is. and he's still skilled and dangerous. Conor was out struck by fucking Khabib for crying out loud. this gonna be dramatic and ugly for Conor.

Cowboy is getting iced in the first. you assume the Conor of old. silly fool. he was less than his usual self vs Khabib and will be much less than that vs Cowboy. and at an unnatural weight. He's not a fighter anymore. sad but true.

I mean, you are assuming he is different based on one fight, no? That and a lack of motivation which is reasonable to assume. But, what you are saying kind of makes perfect sense for my line of thinking as well. Fresh off of making 100 million dollars he fights the best fighter he has ever fought in what also happens to be a stylistic nightmare for him as well. Predictably, he hets his ass beat.
Is it not reasonable to think that after that debacle, over a year away from the game, doubters like he has never experienced before, that he will come back with more hunger? He has openly said that the camp for Khabib was terrible and he let his whole camp and himself down. I know it is a tired trope but he has been adament for over half of a year now that he has righted his wrongs and is committed to going back to what made him great.
With that in mind, I also consider my belief that Connor reached a height in ability that Cowboy simply never did. Even considering my doubts over the legitimacy of the Mendes fight, there is no taking away from him callimg his shot and KOing the reigning goat at featherweight then dismantling Eddie Alvarez (yes I am aware Cowboy beat Alvarez too).
I think it is more likely that his focus has improved rathwr than waned, and although Cowboy is a bad ass motherfucker, he has never been able to win one belt let alone two at once (while fluctuating between THREE weight classes!).
Finally, consider the fact Cowboy is often an aggressive fighter that struggles against fast hands and although he is a capable wrestler and has solid jui jitsu, he time and time again decides to bang it out standing.
Connor is most susceptible to guys who can get him down and/or guys with elite cardio, neither of which are things Cowboy is bringing heavily to this fight.
Connor TKO1 is my prediction.

Connor TKO1 is my prediction. well I hope you're right. but this path Conor is on since beating Alvarez is not conducive to success. but maybe the biggest factor is just how much does Cowboy have left.

and no im not basing it strictly off one fight. if Conor had lost to Khabib, stayed clean and focused, and came back 5-6 months later and fought Cowboy at 155, id be picking him by 1st rd KO.

Conor has really beefed up and I'd guess it's not going to do him well if he doesn't get it done in the first 2 rounds. Carrying the extra mass isn't going to help him with his oxygen problem. He might have some more power but he isn't going to be quicker and last longer. Maybe he'll wrestle.

I must say, I Khabib said he was gonna change his mind, this Conor is different, he's more humble, he's still proud and confident, but less bravado. Hope he wins.

god damn. well not much to analyze other than to say Conor is still Conor. idk if he can be that at 170 vs the top guys but he's bat shit crazy enough to try, and that, you just gotta love. i would advise him not get in there with Masvidal or Usman quite yet. if he's serious about 170 i love a fight between he and Wonderboy.

this was obviously boxing style match making of sorts, and Conor deserved it, but man you talking about a guy who took Aldo out in 13 seconds, Cerrone in 40 seconds, 2 MMA legends. Amazing killer instincts and finishing ability.

Im not overly impressed. I saw it coming. I always said cowboy was limited. He put in some gritty performances. But against an elite it was gonna be that.

nothing to be overly impressed about. I'd say satisfied and content fits the bill. this fight proved that Conor is still serious about fighting. dude worked on a shoulder strike technique and busted Cerrones face with it. threw a precise head kick at the perfect time and distance. and then the finish. he just held serve at this point. but at least thats big at least to me cause i had my doubts about whether he's even serious about being a fighter.

as for Cowboy he just has to take winnable fights at this point and hopefully not even many more of those. Ferguson, Gaethje, Conor in succession. i mean god fucking damn.

I think that shoulder strike is overrated. But i agree with the rest. He showed he aint shot and just trying to cash out. I hope he stays hungry!
