Lebron isn't the best SF or wing player of all time yet, so it doesn't change anything for me. He's still the best player in the game right now. He hasn't surpassed Kobe yet as a basketball player, so its whatever.

I'll say this though, if he has to go to a 3rd team to win another championship, I don't think I can take the guy serious in such discussions.

MJ, Magic, and Larry seem to be a lock for most people. The fourth is difficult to come up with. Either way, it's a stupid question. What does Mount Rushmore even mean? Four best? Four biggest faces of the game? Four best ambassadors? It's beyond subjective.

Kareem is strangely underrated. Also outplayed Chamberlain regularly, who granted was 33 by the time they started playing, but still good enough that nobody but Kareem was outplaying him, including Willis Reed when he was getting Finals MVP's over Wilt, simply for being on the winning team.

My personal Mount Rushmore, the four best I got to see play, because I don't remember Kareem, and Magic/Bird were ancient.

MJ, Hakeem, Lebron, Duncan

Lebron and Duncan are better than Kobe and Shaq.

The lack of comp argument is bullshit. Either you accept that Wilt had nobody, and had to put those numbers up to be competitive, or you fall on the lack of comp, in which case, why was he the only statistical anomaly? Wilt was that damned good. Kareem and Wilt overlapped for a short period. In terms of averages, Wilt outshines him in virtually every category. The one thing Kareem in the end has on Wilt Is longevity. 20 fucking seasons. If Wilt lasted that long, or Kareem never went 20 to the tune that they were in a year or two total of each other, Wilt ends up with the career scoring mark.

Kareem was the better defender though, i'll give him that.
