As far as Serena and Rousey, it's a difference in sports and you have to give Serena the credit for dominating her sport much longer than rousey would ever dominate mma, and you know I love rousey.

Tennis has changed over the years because of racquet tech.
Its so much different to compare her to tennis greats of the past.
She is great no doubt. But tennis is one of those strange sports than tech has caused to be something so different than what it used to be.
She is a great all time athlete no doubt. I don't dispute it. I think there have been better mostly because tennis is too specific and not exactly the definition of an athletic test.
Heptathletes are certainly better for every reason.
