They'd drown if they got Melo.

1. Offensive black hole.
2. at best average defender
3. Is less effective when he gets less shots and gets the ball less
4. exclusively plays the position that Lebron best exploits

A team like the spurs or the pacers (motivated) would cause them worlds of grief.

Disagree. He could easily turn into team USA Melo and just get wide open 3 after wide open 3. And I don't even like Melo's game. He definitely doesn't help defensively, but I don't think they'd be doomed by any means. What they really need a point guard more than anything. Mario/Norris is not working.

And get outta here with that motivated stuff. The Pacers were plenty motivated, and had home court. Their offense is terrible. They're not beating Miami with that core.

he is a slight upgrade over rashard lewis defensively.

obviously they would be better, its not a debate at all. and no way does melo sign with them.

Spurs are so badass. That ball movement looked like a goddamn Big East game from the 1980's. This is a compliment.

I cant put any blame on Lebron. That heat team just has too many flaws that eventually puts the pressure on Lebron to do more than he should have to, especially when going against uber ball. Old legs, average at best point guards, weak and rather unskilled front court players, and a power forward that would rather jump shoot than get in the gutter and get dirty. What do you get, Lebron having to play positions 1-4 to have a chance of winning.

Lets not forget so so coaching. Spolestra isn't that good.

i;m not suggesting that this finals failure is all Lebron's fault, just questioning why the best player is on the bench at that point.

Spo is pretty goddamned good. I consider him one of the better coaches in the league. Not Pop good, but nobody is.

Spurs were just better. They should have won last year too.

The Spurs were flawless. Nobody was going to deny them.
The Heat turned into the Thunder with one on one basketball trying to win, but OKC actually did better and to me was the 2nd best team this year.
Miami has a lot of talent but no set offense other than give it to Lebron and Wade. Then their small ball which worked in the East couldn't defend the paint aagainst SA. They need a shot blocker and someone to defend the paint.

Yeah. I hate how full of schadenfreude NBA discussion is. More than any other sport it seems to place blame on the best player, or the team that lost. Spo got outcoached...because he was going against possibly the greatest coach in the history of organized sports. He's hardly to blame. Just beating Pop last year shows he's pretty good. This year was about how awesome the Spurs are, not a referendum on LeBron and Spo.

I don't see the outcry being about Lebron coming up short, as has been the case in the past, both fairly and unfairly. Its been about the Heat's shortcomings outside of James and how great SA was. As for Spo he doesn't stand out to me one way or the other, which probably means he's a solid coach.

This. I haven't heard much about Lebron at all. I stand by Spo not being all that. I've heard the word great get thrown around when talking about the guy. He's not that.

i am big on the heat missing battier and miller. their team this year just wasn't as good as the first year they won.

and on the other hand the spurs depth was huge. patty mills was killing it.

It's easy to be called great when you have the best player in the league and 3 other future hall of famers. Where was this greatness before Lebron came to south beach. Spo is more of a manager than a coach.

KD is soft. Talking shit about Kawhi and now being a bitch about it. Shut up and win a championship. The whole organization is soft.

Not much shit talking from Durant. What he said was unnecessary but maybe true. I know what he meant though. A good coach and a good system can maximize a player's talents just as well as a lack of one can make a player look bad. Indiana is very unstable and the Spurs have the formula for success mastered.

Golden State needs to stop being sentimental and pull the trigger on that Love trade.

Giving up Thompson and a first round pick for Love and Kevin Martin from the Wovles? That's strong. Thompson aint gonna get much better. You know what you're getting in Love and Martin. Do it!!

You guys are lucky that Rondo isn't like the rest of those "trade me" bitches all round the league these days.

Yeah, he has kept quiet...so far. If the C's don't pull of a major move this summer, you could start to hear it. On the flip side, if Ainge can't make that move, they are going to want to move him anyway, which will suck.
