Another point to be made is, above all things, China is about business first and foremost.

When Lebron was there, a commentator once called him Ape James, or black Gorilla or some shit, and there were accusations of racism, despite the fact that in China with their historu with slavery and blacks, or lacktherof, racism isnt intended. The term gorilla used in this context is in reference to his freakish strength and size. And still, the guy got suspended from the position for like 2 or 3 years.

This is really just a rather expensive cultural clash. Has nothing to do with dictatorship or free speech. China has a culture of respect and holding tongue to propagate business and success. American culture has more shades of gray and at times more loose lipped, and as the saying, loose lips, sinks ships.

They'd be perfectly fine with doing so and I'd defend their freedom of choice! But it wouldnt get there, you know why? because China would be respectful to admit that that one person overstepped their boundaries, would punish said person, and apologize.

Now it's coming out that a lot of the players wanted Morey punished on the grounds that if any player did some shit that would have cost the NBA money like that, they'd be punished. I love it. Capitalism first, thats what America is, the players are absolutely right!

Like i said, I pity my man Adam Silver, he cant win here.

It's juicy to me because an overlap of the liberal class and the self righteous conservative class are now going to converge on american nba players, mostly black, demanding that they bend the knee to 'human rights' and 'freedom' at the cost of self, which most of them were gung ho to do in referencing trump and Kaep, but now are gonna be forced to live up to that truth.

I dont think so. Whats going on in China is not some simple freedom vs tyranny battle, although the freedom touters on both end would present it as such to garner sympathy. If it was, Id agree with you. Lebron simply said simplying taking a side in a complex issue like this in a country of over 1 billion was bound to piss a lot of people off a negatively impact the nbas business.
