Doesn't get any more macho than a Betances/ Cabrera match-up. Betances Ks him on a 100 mph fastball. That was intense. Hopefully get to see that match-up one more time in this series.

The Mets got them selves another jewel in Jacob DeGrom. That kid can throw some serious heat. Along with Harvey, Wheeler, Syndergaard, and Montero, they will have a serious picthing staff. They also have Montero, Mejia, Familia and Matz that they can use as trade bait. Things are looking up for the Mets.

I really like DeGrom. Harvey is the goods. Don't know about those other jabronis. and you still cant hit and Wright will break down sooner or later.

So Cano goes to Seattle and they're currently one game off a wild card spot with the second highest run differential (+104) in baseball. Yanks are dormie with a -35 run differential. Probably wishing they could have that one back.

So because Seattle may miss the playoffs by a game or 2 this year, the Yanks should regret not matching the ridiculous 10 yr deal even though their 7 yr offer was more than fair?? :eusa_think:

How is it trolling? Are you suggesting you wouldn't have been better off with Cano?

im saying the Yanks don't regret the Cano situation at all despite the fact that they suck while Cano with the Ms are just good enough to barely miss the playoffs. They offered Cano a few pennies more annually over 7 years, he took 10 years which the Yanks were never going to go to, not even if they could do it over again. They were more than fair with him, he didn't want to re-sign. Nothing to regret. Only thing they could have done different was put a gun to his head.

unless im just misinterpreting that last sentence of the Yanks ''wanting that one back.'' If you're not implying that they regret Cano's contract situation then my bad. Obviously they'd be better off with him, not even sure they'd make the playoffs with him though.

It just seems that Cano is even more valuable than we thought. We're talking about Seattle possibly making the playoffs. I can't even name another player in their lineup. Kyle Seager? Can't name a pitcher outside of Felix and the Japanese guy. He should've been the nucleus of your organization for the next era, and I guess I just don't understand why you guys picked this year to start worrying about price tags. What do you really have to build around right now? Tanaka? Gardner? As a fan of a team that is also on the high payroll route, I know you don't have a farm system worth a damn, so you're probably going to end up spending a ton of money to replace Cano's value, anyways, just a year late.

Assuming good health, Tanaka/Pineda can be as good as it gets at the front end of the rotation. Hopefully McCarthy and Shane Greene are for real. So at least pitching isnt a concern (assuming health), and wasnt an issue this year. Offensively we have Gardner and Ellsbury and nothing else. Not good.

Who is winning the MVPs this year? I don't see a clear cut candidate in either league.

I'd give it to Cano or VMart over Trout. Has an MVP ever lead the league in strikeouts?

Almost certainly. Ryan Howard's 58 HR year comes to mind. Adam Dunn might've had more this year. Trout should win in a landslide. Kershaw in the NL.

you cant keep not giving Trout the MVP lol. I was down with Miggy the last 2 years though Trout could have just as easily won it. No way he doesn't win it this year. There's no one having a Miggy year. Trout dwarfs Cano in HR and RBI, Martinez is a DH and his offensive numbers as a whole aren't any better than Trouts. Trout is a gold glove defender. That should be enough separation to give Trout MVP, and for what its worth the Angels record wise are the best team in the AL, so you cant use the losing team excuse for Trout the way you could have the last 2 years.

Trout's big number games always come in blowouts, which his team has had plenty of. He'll strike out 3 times in a one run ball game. His plate discipline has gotten worse, or pitchers are just figuring him out. Is this the year people start counting his RBIs and forget about the streaky hitting and paltry 14 stolen bases? I guess he wins it by default, partly by accumulation. Abreu deserves strong consideration as well.

I was pretty shocked at seeing just 14 SBs. Maybe the team took a more conservative approach on offense not wanting to give away outs now that the team is actually hitting to its potential. idk. Plus he's relied more on the HR ball this year. More trotting and less sliding into 2nd.

Worst ESPN segment of all time, which is saying something. I cant believe they let him do that on live TV.

Triple or nothing on Jets-Lions.
