Can't believe Bosh is staying in Miami. That Houston team might've won the west. Hope he enjoys ~45 wins and a first round playoff exit in Miami.

beat me to it. im floored. he just took the money. he has 2 rings, he doesn't care. Sucks for Houston. maybe they get in on Gasol. Either way they have a strong core with Dwight, Harden, and Parsons.

now Houston is allegedly re-considering retaining Parsons because they didn't get Bosh. I don't get that. Wouldn't it be more urgent to retain Parsons after losing out on Bosh?? This somewhat of a dream scenario for Houston is potentially turning into a disaster. If they lose Parsons, without getting Bosh as well, a terrific off season will have turned into a terrible one.

Nah. Cause then you're locked into Dwight/Harden/Parsons with no wiggle room going forward. May be better of chasing FAs next summer or go after KD in 2 years. Gasol makes a lot of sense but he's apparently either going to the Spurs or Bulls.

I actually think Melo is going to the Bulls. Gasol is in such a great position. OKC-SA-HOU and Chi if Melo doesn't go there. Cant go wrong either way.

You guys sound bitter  I give the man props for taking the money and the harder rebuilding assignment. Good for him!

parson is going to be hard to replace though. right now he is probably a better player than ariza and deng (not to mention being way younger). and as they just found out with bosh its not easy getting the free agents to sign.

they already lost lin and ashik, without parson they have a really thin team. i think they got to bite the bullet and pay the 15 mil a year.

atleast they cleared the room already so they dont have to pay the tax ;)

man wtf you talking about bitter, no one is bitter over Bosh.

he doesn't give a shit about harder rebuilding assignment or being the man in Miami or loyalty, he went because they gave him the max. He's already proven to be soft and gladly accepted being a 3rd wheel to win a title, good for him, but he went for the money and nothing else. all truth.

Melo with Houston or Chicago makes the most sense. I actually think Houston would be better off with melo than bosh and parsons. Maybe pick up a skilled defender like ariza again if he's not asking for too much.

The east is so fucking weak, James is guaranteed to make it to the east finals with just that mediocre team. I don't think the spurs will win anymore. Age and lack of fire are probably gonna do them in. Thunder could've really used old ass gasoft. Lakers fucked up picking up Lin. I like Stephenson but the dude is a headcase. Giving him a big contract is a gamble.

they are apparently huge favorites for mirotic to come over.

Think it means the opposite. They're going to be over the cap anyway, might as well have Parsons too.

interesting.

i guess ideally plan b would of been to match parson and get a trevor ariza level pf. HOWEVER

one did not exist on the free agent market.

with howard at center they could certainly get away with trying parsons at pf.

k so i am coming around on the isiah thomas signing even though you already have 2 top 20 pgs.

thomas is an asset he is young. you can trade him or dragic or bledsoe for a bigger piece.

but not getting the gasol 2 the bulls, how do you pay your backup center 10 mil a year.

I actually like the Gasol Noah pairing more than the theoretical Bosh Howard pairing. Noah is better defensive player overall than Dwight currently, more active, offensively he cleans up well in and around the paint, but he cant really create his own offense too well. Gasol is average defensively, but he can not only create his own offense, but he's one of the best passing big men in the game. Gasol will provide Noah a lot of easy baskets via passing and missed shots, and both will grab the shit out of boards. They might have bought a lemon though, Gasol constantly nagged about injuries in the last few years in LA.

Not sure why you think the Bulls are going to start Taj Gibson Jojo. He's a better bench player but not a better overall player than a healthy Gasol. You put Gasol on the bench duty and he'll sulk and his game will suffer. It's gonna be interesting to see how Tom Thibideau deals with Pau. I hear dude runs the shit out of his guys in practice, that shit aint gonna help with Pau.
