Nah there's always some bullshit drama prior to a world cup. Once it starts everyone gets sucked in to the hype and the negative press goes away..

Jo it seems like every US player is only capable of playing 20-30 minutes tops before getting exposed. I don't know what it is.

There is nothing like the world cup so I'm glad I'm someone's talking about. A lot of people are writing off the US forgetting Portugal barely limped in to the tourney. A tie against them and a win against Ghana will do it cuz they arent beating Germany. I can't wait for this Shit to start.

Donovan has barely held his own with the galaxy. In US's last game against mexico he got out played by old ass rafa Marquez. Granted Marquez was a Euro star in his heyday but still. I think Donovan will get fucken schooled by every player on the German and portugese roster . Then there's Ghana. I haven't checked their roster but probably has some of the same players from 4 years ago...

he was one of the few guys in our history that was an impact player on the international level cuz dude was fast. and the fact that he pick brad frickon davis over him tells me it was more of a personal issue for the coach. than a talent issue. like i think the coach just wanted to make a statement that hey look i am european legend i a smarter than these stupid california kids.

its just impossible for me to believe having him on the field didnt give us a better chance to win than a lot of these guys.

I hear ya Jo. Personally I don't think Donovan would've made an impact other than in penalty kicks. If Klansman manages to get the team out of the bracket it'll be considered a huge accomplishment. There's whispers he dumped Donovan to prep the younguns for the next cup.

Seems to be that name value isn't getting guys spots on the team, that is a good thing.

look i guess i should say he is there i give him that. so he sees how they are playing right now. and right now ld isnt having a great year. i havent watched a single galaxy game, but he has no goals so far this year. but last year he had a good year.

so the argument for the cut is look he wasnt having a great a year he is old for soccer.

and this kind of ties in to what godboi was saying. there were politics about choosing the team. for example he chose a fellow by the name of julian green who is a big time soccer prospect that resides in germany. he was chosen basically as an award for choosing to play for the united states over germany.

he also choose 2 young defenders jon brooks and deandre yeldin who well probably arent going to play either .

and other guys i brought up that arent impact guys like brad davis heck even kyle beckerman over ld (though they probably need beckerman as the backup defensive midfielder)


anyway like i said i am so sure having ld on the pitch would of gave us the best chance to beat ghana, portugal and germany.

Green outplayed LD in that mexico game. He should've been given a penalty kick after getting fouled within the area but the ref wasn't having it. That kick would've won them the game.
