Yankee's Tex back on the DL list. Season just started.
Glad to see Ike Davis hit a huge HR for the Mets. He sure needed it as much as the team did.

it is remarkable how Texiera and Jason Giambi's Yankee careers are extremely similar. They were both great players prior to their Yankee signings and both guys had great initial seasons for the Yankees and both gradually bottomed out afterwards.

Some idiot in my fantasy baseball league just dumped Cliff Lee. Which relief pitcher would you dump to pick him up: Papelbon, K-Rod, or Axford.

I hate every one of those relievers. I don't trust Axford, and Papelbon is in steep decline, but I think they'll at least stay on the field, where K-Rod is probably a couple weeks away from the DL, so I'd drop him.

I never watch the NL, so what's the deal with K-Rod? He's looked pretty damn good so far.

intheband02 wrote: I never watch the NL, so what's the deal with K-Rod? He's looked pretty damn good so far. Look at his saves by year: 63 35 25 23 3 10 He's been finding a way to get demoted, or hurt the past four years. I imagine another year older, one or both will happen again. I think people were surprised when K-Rod was chosen over Jim Henderson, so if K-Rod falters, I can see them being quick on making a change. Easier for me to say, not having to do it. Especially with Papelbon's ERA, at the moment. Bottom line, I don't think dropping any one of those three for Cliff Lee will haunt you. You can usually find saves.

Any line on what Grilli can do this year? He's been damn good since going to the NL, but he's 37 and I'm always reminded of how bad-to-mediocre he was in Detroit. He has to regress, but is he still better than everyone I mentioned?

He's gonna have to be because CC's done and Nova sucks.

I am worried about CC. Nova is an enigma. had a great year, then a bad one, then improved again last year and had high hopes for this year, now he's off to a rocky start. I think he will be fine though. oddly enough, its CC we have to worry about the most.

I thought Nova was going to be a really good #2 behind CC a few years ago, but the rotation is turning Japanese. (Quick reply feature FTW)

its time to give up on Nova being as good as a #2, id settle for a dependable #5 at this point. Pineda is going to be good and overall better than Nova. our 2 best pitchers are Japanese. CC idk what he is.

I think CC's finally paying for his Milwaukee run. He's going to have to make Mike Mussina level adjustments.

How many more years does CC have in his contract? And how much is it worth?
