Kaos, what up man? Got a law enforcement question for you. I know this chick, and her house was raided on suspicion that she was dealing. Cops break down her door at 7 in the morning while she is getting her 2 kids ready for school. the know the kids over to get to her and put her in cuffs. Cops then start tossing the house. They find nothing. and I mean nothing. no paraphanalia, no contraband, scales, baggies, not a god damn thing. In the mean time, they have ruined hundreds of dollars in food, beaten up furniture, and left her house in complete and total shambles. put holes in the wall looking for stuff. I get there and there are officers outside with her kids, kids crying, and the cops telling them "this is what happens when you do drugs". End of the day, she's not arrested, not charges filed, but her house is destroyed, kids are traumitized, and her car keys went missing. cops took them to search it, never gave them back. On a scale of 1-10, how fucked up is this situation?

It's fucked up. It's also something that happens alot. Unfortunately nothing could be done about it. Once the judge signs the search warrant it's bashing time for the cops.

And there is no recourse for damaged goods? Especially when they find not a damn thing? Tell your friend to file a claim in small claims court against the agency that did the damage. Document everything (photos) that was damaged. She might get lucky and the agency pays for the damage.
