73yrs old...but he lived hard and so it is old. Been sober for 40 years and hadn't smoked in 7yrs I think. It ain't worth getting into man cuz I ain't parlaying this into anything... but I will be damned to just say it...it was blood clots that caused his lungs to fill with water causing pneumonia. Choices man...choices. One was to amputate his legs. He hasn't been right in a while and I'd suspect the blood clots were fucking his brain up for a good while. I made the decision and honored his wishes. No extraordinary measures and I know he was ready. He told me Thanksgiving he was ready. |

Awww Bro 73 is too soon man, I'm sorry for your loss. If they tell you they are ready, only one way to go with it. We had that fight in the hospital and I almost put hands on my uncle. But we all let go when the time was right. He's a rest now Brother. The rest of us carry on the struggle. |

He was a man with the utmost faith in the "God Almighty" or "The Lord" as he often said. It was maybe the 1 thing that wasn't up for discussion or query. "You better get right with the God Almighty son...everybody's judgment day is coming." Damn shit is heartbreaking though...now I got a stepfamily 1000 miles away picking over bones like they got a right. The only person with that right is me and soon I'll have a fight of the legal kind. That is going to suck ass. His last ex-wife said a will isn't on file with the probate court because there wasn't enough. Yet there is a full house of goods, 2 cars, and the house itself. She's claiming they have an agreement he could live out his final days there and in return, she gets to do what she's doing. Meanwhile, I've asked for that will--a copy...but she hadn't sent it yet. Blood family seems to think she doctored up something. Signed off with the funeral home to have him cremated as he wanted and sent remains to his broken-hearted sister so I can make it down and spread his ashes over the rock face of Glassy Mountain which is a magnificent rock to behold. For 70 years he saw that rockface from his living room window. FUcking shit birds...well shit birds anyway like my Grandma said. |
