They aren't even close to Level 5 autonomy. The problem with people using Autopilot is that it can get other drivers killed. Frankly, this is the kind of issue where the government should step in and shut the Autopilot program down, but, they won't. It's actually the biggest problem I have personally with Elon Musk.

On the system and software end...i was simply never a believer in the concept. Too many moving parts. Its simpler to program an airplane to self fly...take off and landing included in a planes environment than to program a car to self drive in a cars environment....and self flying plans have required much more rigorous development and test...i can 100% that much. Where as the autonomous cars im pretty sire havent had to have outside entities validate or approve their shit... Not to mention that im positive Musk hasnt allocated nearly enough resources to its development in the first place. _________________

I actually didn't even think about that until you said it. I just figured the driver (probably male) was trying to impress his girlfriend with the Autopilot and the car just fucked up like they usually do. But, yeah, absolutely, the car probably freaked out when it got to that weird ass intersection and that was a wrap. Obviously they were probably going at a decent rate of speed. Who know...maybe they was fucking in the back seat.
