Purely hypothetical question, because i in no way think this will whappen. however, i would be interested to know how Puerto Ricans would feel if they became the 51st state. Means they don;t have their own flag or anthem anymore. They are not Puerto Rican anymore, just "American"
Would you be pissed off?

It's both good and bad. Lots of people will lose land because they won't be able to afford the taxes. They won't lose the flag. That ain't going nowhere. Jobs might get better. Hospitals and health care would be a huge upgrade.

the people are like 50-50 every time they vote for it. pr does also have an independent party that wants self rule, not a good idea, too much would be spent on defense i think. now before i read that the low income people would benefit greatly, but the votes are not there.
