Against Povetkin 168 clinches were recorded. Thats a clinch 1 time every 12 seconds.
They only way I see this octopus lower the clinches is for Leapi to just let him hit and not throw back.
I'd rather be disqualified then let a man hug me that much.
SOme judo first. Boxing second once you send the message to keep your hands to yourself.

ref set Leapi straight during the first min...
NO...you ain't getting close and if Clinchko doesnt get a hold of you good enough I separate you for him...I might even warn you.
AND...yes...the big guy is allowed to headlock you, lean on you, and do whatever it takes.

Leapi is barely in the top 30 of HWs.

There you go...on cue.

At least they could get someone in their with stature to compete.
Wladimir is an amazing HW and he is better than the shit fights they sign.
However, he will stay in Germany. Remain protecting. And avoid fights. That is the business plan.

They sure keepem small or old for Wlad.

Protected from whom? There is no one out there. If you going to say Wilder than I would say make that fight. But he is by no means a huge threat.

I mean protected in the since they certainly don't increase the risk. Leapi is ranked like 28 or something. I can't imagine a reason for fight outside the top 20 or even 10.

So what is everyone waiting for? Leapi was about the equivalent of Mansour.

At least pick someone new with a sound record in the top rankings.

We shall see but Leapi was to avoid him in the first place

http://www.boxingscene.com/pulev-klitsc ... ora--72858

Pretty much everybody knows the Pulev is the best fight for Klitschko.
ITs been on the radar for a while but we get this here with Leapi because its "mandatory".
ITs laughable, but Pulev is "mandatory" in the next rotation of these alphabet soup belts.

We shall see.

As usual Jo is right when it comes to heavies. The idea that Wlad is avoiding heavies so he can pad his record and fight bums is laughable. He has fought everyone, and will continue to do so. Tonight was a technicality due to his desire to keep his belts. He has not avoided anyone throughout his entire reign as champion (aside from his brother, which is obviously a given).

Hate on Wlad for his style and the ability level of his competition? Sure. Hate on him for avoiding challenges? Idiocy.

lol at Wlad ducking. Wlad is willing to fight any and every sorry ass HW out there, and has mostly. Arreola, Wilder, Stivernne etc all lose easily.

Wlad has been dominant for at least 10 years. He is not a protected fighter. He has basically beaten everyone that matters. Not his fault if the heavies blow right now.

i give wlad a lot of credit for getting the haye fight down. because as we have seen from, the tyson furry negotiation, haye is not an easy bargainer. this was certainly an easier fight. but as people pointed out between the sanction bodies and even cases where certain guys like say povetkin avoiden fighting wlad for years. wlad has fought by far the toughest competition at heavyweight out of anyone the last 8 years.

Clinchko os horrible to watch ,
Is in the worst heavyweight era ever and
Gets away with clinching at will.
In germany he gets that advantage.

Id love a good american ref in america for wlad vs arreola
Or wilder.

Cliff Rold nailed just about how I feel regarding the fight with Klit and Leapai.

"This is a joke right? IF anyone needs evidence of how ridiculous the mandatory allotment can sometimes be, there is this. The system is not an indictment of Leapai. He won the fight he was suppose to scoring an upset win over Boystov but--between that fight and a stoppage loss to Kevin Johnson--he beat dreck. How was he is that position in the first place? And given the opportunity of a lifetime, how is it he shows up the highest recorded weight of his career? etc etc etc...."

This is how the ratings at Boxrec. have the HW listed 1-15. Only fight I care to see Wlad in is with Wilder, Fury and Pulev. But none of those fights are really a threat to Wlad. Maybe Wilder with his wild swinging power shots can get to Wlad but I highly doubt it. Wlad fights to careful to get hit like that. Wlad already beat two guys on that list (Potvenkin, Thompson). Haye is not on the list cause of inactivity but he was highly rated and thought to be Wlad's biggest threat at the time. But Wlad toyed with that ass when they fought.

1 Wladimir Klitschko 62(52)-3(3)-0 Champ

2 Kubrat Pulev 20(11)-0-0

3 Tyson Fury 22(16)-0-0

4 Vyacheslav Glazkov 17(11)-0-1

5 Dereck Chisora 20(13)-4(1)-0

6 Chris Arreola 36(31)-3(1)-0

7 Deontay Wilder 31(31)-0-0

8 Alexander Povetkin 26(18)-1-0 (Beat by Wlad)

9 Tony Thompson 39(26)-4(2)-0 (Beat by Wlad)

10 Tomasz Adamek 49(29)-3(1)-0

11 Odlanier Solis 20(13)-2(1)-0

12 Bryant Jennings 18(10)-0-0

13 Steve Cunningham 27(12)-6(1)-0

14 Christian Hammer 16(10)-3(2)-0

15 Lucas Browne 20(18)-0

Wlad is gonna stay fucking up every guy he faces. He needs to take his show on the road as he says, fight 2 times overseas, then land in Vegas for a wilder fight. Promoted right that shit will be a pretty big deal if Wilder can keep his momentum. Right now though, Wilder isnt ready.
