Missed the fight, but when I heard what the result was I knew it was almost guaranteed that it was a late fight kick from hell that probably ended a fight that Edwards was roundly losing. We know whos winning a rematch. Without having watched, sounds like Usman fought too confident in a fight that was pretty much done opposed to fighting safety like a guy who wrapped it up already and Edwards got the kick through, that or the kick was just perfect in every way. |

I wouldn't say overconfident, he was just fighting his fight. Fought the 5th the same exact as he fought 2-4 and was dominating the same way. But Leon did set it up beautifully. Got Usman to lean away from an incoming punch only the punch never came lol. But DC brought up a great point when he said that any little success Leon had was when he was able to come forward on Usman. When Usman was going forward aggressively Leon had no shot. That fight ending sequence was Usman retreating just a bit and reacting to what he thought Leon was coming with. So perhaps Usman did indeed play it to safe in that last sequence instead of the opposite. |

Wild. Yeah. I can envision that too!! I mean a lot of put outs happen when dudes tryna retreat or defend. Well I'm sure they ain't gonna let dude get to another fight without a rematch so all due respect to Edward's...its one and done. But I'm glad he got it though, he been getting disrespected since his run in with Mas. Whatever anything else was he can say he was the guy who knocked out one of the organization's goats....which Usman is not too far from being. |

Yea i'd say their was some overconfidence. Usman was rolling winning 4 rounds straight after losing the 1st. Edwards corner came with it before the last round. On some Angelo dundee you're blowing it shit. But Edwards set it up nicely and pretty basically. Before the fight ender he hit Usman to the body with the kick, even to the leg as well. Got Usman's respect apparently cause Usman reached out thinking the kick was coming low again and POW! fight over. Good for Leon |

What that video doesnt show is that Leon landed a kick to the body and leg earlier in the round. Which is really what set it up. |
