Imo there so many mixed reviews on this kid.
He is still young ,and of coarse has to time to get better and fighting floyd cant hurt .
What do you think. You got molina ,lara, kirkland. Is he better in your opinion

Im not so sure that was a good version of angulo. And everyone i talk to has a different opinion.

In his own division clearly above Molina, Lara and Kirkland.

wtf are you guys talking about?? based on what is he clearly the best at 154?? Because he did something that Kirkland and Lara did before him?? how is he clearly ahead of those guys?? Lara has a much better resume, beat a fresher Angulo. Also beat Trout a lot easier than Canelo did. How can you say he's clearly above Lara with all things considered outside of name recognition. its bullshit.

He beat Angulo more impressively than Lara. I don't care if he wasn't the same. Its not like he fought him 10 years after Lara. He also beat Trout and took his title and his undefeated record. And next you will see him beat Lara.

Lara>>>>>Canelo when it comes to the Trout fight. Trout being undefeated and having a belt don't mean shit in that regard. if he beats Lara, then yes obviously. right now based on WORK in the division, Lara has clearly fought and beat better fighters.

im actually making a decent effort not to hate Canelo as much, he's been showing some good signs as of late, assuming the Lara fight does happen. But people on the other side gotta be fair about things too. saying shit like he's clearly the man at 154 when his best win is either Trout (which Lara beat more impressively) or Angulo (who Lara beat first and stopped legitimately), and has no resume to speak of outside of that, whereas Lara clearly does. come on. doesn't add up.

Better (if not way ballsier) than the haters say. Not as good as anyone making a buck off him would have you believe.

I just the eye test. To me he looks like the best, although Lara and Kirkland are the two that I think can give him that test.

Lara is boring. Its not a reason to say he shouldn't be rated higher, but people do look at that as one of the reasons. Beating an undefeated champ goes along way in people's eyes too. So saying it means shit is wrong.

alright cool I can dig the eye test theory. im still confident Lara beats him, but not close to the 100% confidence I had some time ago.

Well everybody needs a boogeyman. But we've seen Lara pretty much lose against less.

And I think Canelo isat the point where hes gonna start getting better every two fights. Lara and Kirkland arent gonna get any better than they are now.

I like him a lot. But I have Kirkland ahead of those guys. Canelo is probably the best of the 3 but I would favor Kirk to whip their asses right now.

Angulo an trout are canelos best wins And Imo he didnt beat trout.
Angulo quit vs lara ,he didnt just get beat. He was fresher in the kirkland and lara fights and looked flat vs canelo, maybe it was a body shot . ???

Canelo at least wants to fight lara , molina has troubles .
So im thinking he is aiming for kirkland again,
If he beats lara, kid has ambition.he went from fighting small guys
And no hopers for years, then he finally stepped up and got in the ring with trout.

Now he wants lara and likely kirkland

I say lara and molina are the best. And canelo needs to prove it

I don't think Canelo has much improving to do really, maybe a little. maybe stamina and activity, and competition level of course. I don't think 2-3 years from now we'll see Canelo and say holy shit what a difference. Doesn't mean he cant be a really good fighter with really good wins.

I think he's already really good from a technical standpoint, and the stamina issues have been overstated. If we were back in the days of 15 rounders, maybe I'd care more. In a 12 round fight, I have yet to see stamina alone come close to losing him a fight. It's just the way he fights. Being more Marquez than Margarito isn't a bad thing.

I rate Canelo as pretty much a finished product, who is solid in all areas, but great at none. I don't think his stamina will ever improve. That's like punching power, where you either got it, or you don't. Look at Oscar, who trained his ass off, and always had terrible stamina. Nothing he could do about it. Canelo is just solid, and will continue to be. Don't see much room for improvement, or anything close to special.

Canelo ain't great but he is the best of the lot when it comes to the other 3 not named Floyd. He is going to have some good wins in his future. Not sure if he will ever be h.o.f material though.

good fighter but his career is still young... movement and boxing give him trouble but there arent many who can do it as good as Mayweather or Trout on a smaller scale. I wanna see him vs Charlo/Kirkland or up to 160 vs GGG and some young fighters who are his size and not slow brawlers
