I been watching a lot of lightweight and pre-Vernon Forrest Shane. Man was he a beast. Vicious combo's, body punches. Jab to the body and bringing up that heavy right hand, leaping left hooks, had super long arms for his size. Just basically the Margarito fight over and over.
His dad called his style "power-boxing" and that's exactly what it was

My all time favorite boxer. That Margarito fight was one of my favorite sporting events ever. I remember hurting my shoulder that night with my overzealous celebrating.

Lmao hell yea. I remember the plaster shit came out right before the fight. And then they mentioned hiw Shane just got divorced or split from his wife, I believe she took him to town too on the divorce. Cause she was also his manager. And it seemed like whoever was in there that night was gonna get their ass whooped. He just happened to have the perfect come forward punching bag opponent who just had his power and confidence taken away. A perfect storm.

I have to agree that Shanes win over Margarito was definitely the most satisfying, only just beating out Shanes first win over Oscar.

I've always felt the Mosley Delahoya 1st fight was one of the best fights ever man, then dudes was just fighting on such a High fucking level, I was stunned when Mosley took the first L, cause up that point that dude looked like the perfect fighter. Then he got rocked and started tippy toeing
Dude was nasty for sure though, and even past his prime gave my Cotto a hell of a fight.

YES bro so much yes! One of those moments in time that noone will really understand unless they were living that moment as it happened. Shane was a fucking wearwolf that night. He was Vegeta finna go Super Saiyan out of pure rage and hate. It was a spectacular display of humanity. Dont forget Margarito was a BIG favorite! Mosley was the purest form of destruction that night and the karma cycle of life came full circle that night.
This will go down as one of the most underrated nights in the history of the sport but I lived and breathed that shit.

We can go back in time and i was calling the whole thing with Shane and Jin in the moment and predicting that Shane was in an overwhelmingly happy place for that fight. He came out to live your life lol..and he looked like he just became free from slavery. I think it was one of those where only Jermz and Austin predicted Shane whuppin margaritos ass.

Shane mosley has an interview just posted on YouTube on The Art of Dialogue's channel, basically VladTV style channel but ran by brothas I believe and not that culture vulture lol.
Anyway in talking about the Margarito fight, Shane said his ex-wife told him he could keep that $2 million dollar check for the Margo fight because "he was gonna lose, and it would be his last anyway" and that's why he fought like that that night.
He said he didn't give a fuck about those wraps and margarito coulda put them shits back on cause it wasn't gonna make a fuckin difference. His ex-wife could have took half that but instead pitied him and disrespected the fuck out of him. Shane was like alright bitch, we gon see.
The rest is history and Shane went on to get a few more checks, most notably the May fight. Fuck that bitch. Check out that interview.

Saw a clip recently where Floyd admitted, undoubtedly, that he was hurt and hurt bad by Shane in that 2nd rd. I always remember Floyd fans BSing like na Floyd wasn't hurt he wasn't in trouble. That man was in serious trouble that rd.

One thing I never noticed about the Margarito stoppage was that it was simultaneously stopped 3 different ways. Shane KOd him while the ref jumped in to stop it while the corner threw in the towel. That's pretty cool.
