has he been BSing and wasting his entire career away?? or is he the victim of guys like Santa Cruz, Frampton, Warrington, Mares, and more recently Tank Davis, all not wanting to fight him??

Unfortunately that area of weight is full of cowards and game players. If there was more money in the game like 10 years ago youd get more of them fighting, but now everyone wants to fight bums for the steady cheque.

But rather than fighting his mandatories, he should have been working his way up the rankings of the other belts and become the other guys mandatories, so he could at least force the fight that way, or force step aside money.

I tend to doubt "No one will fight me" fighters. It can be true to an extent, but rarely to the extent that their sorry ass resumes reflect. It's partially you too, dude.

I agree with Jermz and Gruber. Id bet the house that Santa Cruz is flat out ducking and has been for years. then he spoke about Mares ducking him at a time Mares was one of the ballsiest dudes in boxing, fighting everyone. but then he got smoked and Russell smoked the guy that smoked him. i dont doubt that Frampton and the other names he mentioned said no thanks at a certain point. But as Jermz said he couldve tried to force the issue other ways and taken different steps than fighting 1 bum a year for like 5 years in a row. we've seen plenty of guys avoided, and they didnt end up like Russell. he's not the most feared fighter ever.


and i believe Russell and Tank would be a PHENOMENAL fight. but i know Sugar in the Tank dont want it.

1 fight a year is a pathetic schedule. Dudes who are trying to make a mark and get other fights dont fight only once a year. You dont generate interest that way, or get thru the rankings quick enough. So ya, he's on some BS.

That said, Russell has to take some of the blame here too.

His problem is much like alot of haymon fighters, Haymon. Al has too many fighters, and not enough dates. Most haymon guys fight once or twice a year, with one fight always being a squash match.

Russelll has been calling out Santa Cruz badly, Al needs to make that fight, Russell even called out al, so lets see if he gets cut lol i bet if Top rank offered him something he would go
