The fact that Porter is the one who called TC to make this fight when he did gives the impression that retirement was on his mind at the front end of all of this. Might be why Kenny Porter said Shawn wasnt really ready for the fight. He probably is done.

I'll sing his praises in due time but for now him retiring like this just feels like a soft overly emotional decision. he doesnt have to be anybodys stepping stone. he's the 3rd best WW in the world and still in his prime. he could realistically and quickly work his way back to a Spencer rematch and a Keef rematch should've been happened. im not a fan of this retirement talk at this present moment. like they say, some guys shouldn't talk or be asked tough questions in the immediate aftermath of a fight.

I think there is an announcer deal in the works, or maybe he is trying to use this as a marketing thing for himself? Maybe try and promote himself for a shot against a TC-Spence winner? Or maybe your are right, and this is 100% reactionary.

I agree with this 100. When other fighters are out there ducking, and "marinating" porter fought anyone he could get his hands on, and always brought it.

Keef knows he's done, but he'll try to sell himself for a pay cheque. Thing is everyone is so fed up of his antics that I doubt they'll fight him. Nobody needs him. There are plenty of other fighters around WW old and young to do without sometimes Thurman. Spence aint freezing out Bud, I'll die on that hill, but he's definitely freezing out Thurman, and I'm sure Bud will do the same.

Spence, TC, Ugas, Ennis. Josh Taylor probably gonna move up in a year. Vergil Ortiz. Fuck a Keef Thurman.

A d it's why the whole retirement thing don't bother me, he's fought everybody, and the fighters that are not retired might as well be. I'm sure if everybody was lining up to throw hands he'd probably be doing exactly what A mentioned, fighting his way back to a big fight, but I it in this ERA man, shit done changed.

i dont even think its that serious to say Keef is being froze out. i don't even think anyone is on his radar and he's not on anyone else's radar. yea, he's basically just retired.

funny thing about Porter as well, while he was willing to fight everyone, everyone was also willing to fight him, when the truth is we pretty much settled for these Porter fights as decent alternatives to the fights we really wanted.

Well, keef was also on his youtubing not too long ago about ppl ducking him no ones on his radar because he knows ppl aint interested, and he aint hungry enough to chase them.

Very much so, honestly he's the most enjoyable commentator for me in the game right now not named Roy Jones Jr or Andre Ward. He has a promising career in the booth ahead of him. Hopefully we can push Timothy Bradley out in the process.
