Picking a blow by blow guy is tough. I'd probably have to go Lampley. Not familiar enough with Cossell to pick him, though he's probably the logical choice. Not picking Mauro. Not picking Gus, though I kinda like him. Not picking Tessitore. Definitely not picking the Colonel Bob Sheridan lol. Or Bob Papa. So that really only leaves Lampley unless I'm missing someone.
There's too many to pick as far as color guys go. I probably favor Merchant over everyone else. I liked the dynamic of he and Kellerman together. So I suppose I'm really just picking HBO's crew. Al could fill in for either of those guys more than adequately though. I think Andre Ward is good as far as ex/current fighters go.
Judge at ringside? Chuck Giampa. The only right answer.

Lol I was watching some old Tito fights , especially Albert, funny shit. Pacheco and Cysz going at it. I didn't mean they were good I just found them entertaining.

Tessitore blows. Mauro isn't very good, but I think he's improving. He's actually pretty decent at blow-by-blow, it's just his awful weather man voice makes it easy to not notice. Somebody needs to tell him to talk like a human being.

i still think al bernstein is the goat.
george forman is good (though i did not have a problem with them taking him off when they did)
manny steward was good.
teddy is horrible.
roy is below average.
max isnt good, way to narrative driven.
as i always put in these threads a cheerleader anouncer type like a joe rogan who is also knowledgeable is the gold standard for boxing type announcing.
for some reason in boxing the negative nellies have been the standard.
i thought i had a good line the other day.
people were talking basketball. and they were like can you believe nick young scored ___ points and they were all like in the nba no one plays defense anyone can score ___ points etc.
so i said

you can think of it the other way that so many players in the NBA are so amazingly good at basketball they are capable of huge scoring nights.
